When Nothing Seems to Go Right

There are days that begin with the best of intentions…

…and still somehow unravel.

The small things stack up first.
A delay here.
A mistake there.
Something forgotten.
Something that takes twice as long as it should.

By midday, the heart can feel strangely tired - not from one large burden, but from the quiet accumulation of many small ones.

I have learned those are often the days when discouragement speaks the loudest.

You’re behind.
You should be doing better than this.
Nothing you’re doing is working today.

But the Lord, in His gentleness, rarely measures our days the way we do.

He is not surprised by the slow days.
He is not frustrated by the imperfect ones.
He is not standing over our shoulder keeping score of every small unraveling.

More often, He is present right in the middle of it -
steady, patient, and quietly at work in ways we cannot see.

Sometimes faithfulness looks less like forward progress and more like simply continuing to show up with a willing heart.

Answering kindly when we feel frayed.
Trying again when something falls through.
Taking the next small step instead of giving in to the weight of the whole day.

If today feels like one of those days for you - the kind that refuses to go smoothly - take heart.

God has always done beautiful work through imperfect days.

And His grace is never delayed by the moments that feel most off course to us.

Still trusting in the small steps,
