Grace in the Slow Lane
There is something about traffic that reveals the heart faster than almost anything else.
It only takes a moment.
A sudden lane change.
A car slipping in too close.
Someone in a hurry when we are already running behind.
And just like that, the calm we carried into the drive can feel very far away.
I have had those moments - the quick flare of frustration, the tightening grip on the steering wheel, the quiet words I am glad no one else can hear.
It is such a small space of life.
And yet, it is often right there - in the ordinary interruptions - that the Lord gently invites us to practice the kind of grace we so deeply hope to receive ourselves.
Because the truth is, I do not know the story in the car ahead of me.
I do not know who is late.
Who is worried.
Who is distracted.
Who is simply having a harder day than anyone else can see.
But God does.
And sometimes the holiest thing we can do in a hurried moment is simply choose the softer response.
To breathe.
To let the moment pass.
To remember that patience in small places is still precious in the eyes of the Lord.
If today finds you in a long line of brake lights somewhere, take heart.
Grace travels well… even in slow traffic.
Learning the quieter way,
